One side has alleged that the business of conversion is going on for a long time. They also alleged that police is just trying to sort the matter by discussions and not taking any action
In fact, an
objection was lodged in Ghattu village on Tuesday over the activities of some
youths who came from Tamil Nadu. Nokha police was informed about this by the
local public. As soon as the police brought those youth to Nokha police station,
a huge crowd gathered in front of Nokha police station.
Expressing
displeasure over the release of these youths on bail, Nokha was closed on
Wednesday morning. Raising slogans near the clock tower, questions were raised
on the role of the police.
It was
alleged that the police was supporting one side. All the main markets of Nokha
remained completely closed till 11 am. Medicine shops have been exempted under
essential services, while remaining other business establishments have been
kept closed.
Police are
also deployed to keep a watch on the developments in the city. CO Nam Singh
himself is monitoring the entire situation, while SHO Ishwarchand Jangid is
also active in the area. There was no visible protest of any kind during the Bandh.
Traders are also closing shops without any protest. District Collector Namit
Mehta has summoned a report in the matter.
