PLACES TO VISIT IN BIKANER

JUNAGARH FORT- The Junagarh Fort and its temples and palaces are preserved as museums. It was built by Raja Rai Singh between the years of 1589 -1594 AD. The fort was initially called Chintamani and was renamed Junagarh or "Old Fort" in the early 20th century.


GAJNER LAKE- Gajner Lake is a non-natural lake that is decades old. The gigantic gate of this lake has turn into one of the representative places of Bikaner. Once a summer holiday home of Maharanas, the lake is now part of a luxury hotel. It is extremely peaceful and tourist free.

GANGA SINGH MUSEUM- This Museum is acclaimed as the best museum in all of Rajasthan. It displays a rich array of archaeological discoveries from primitive Harrapan and near the beginning Gupta period. Ganga Singh Museum has a enormous selection of pottery, carpets, coins, paintings, arts and craft, ancient Rajput weaponry and terracotta.


National Research Centre on Camel- It is also known as a Camel Breeding Farm and was established in 1984 by the central government.It is a farm occupied in the research of camels. Visitors are welcome in the afternoons. Learn about the camel breed common to the area. The farm permits tourists at certain hours of the day.


LAXMI NATH TEMPLE- This temple is positioned on the mount in the middle of Bikaner, the place where the city was original founded. This temple is oldest existing construction in Bikaner.It was established by Maharaja Rao Lunakaran in the period between 1504 and 1526.

HOW TO REACH BIKANER IN RAJASTHAN

REACHING BIKANER BY AIR-Bikaner does not have its own airport; the closest airport will be the Jodhpur Airport, which is 251 kilometers away from the city and Sanganer airport Jaipur (325 km). Jaipur Airport is Indian Airlines, Air Deccan, Jet Airways, Air Sahara and Go Air.



REACHING BIKANER BY TRAIN- Bikaner is well linked with rail and road set-up with all chief cities of the country. Bikaner has two railheads- Bikaner Junction and Lalgarh Railway Station.
