Alwar district is positioned in the north-east of Rajasthan. This city supposed to have been founded in the 11th century by King Alguhraj .Alwar is also recognized as Tiger Gate of Rajasthan the city has an exclusive spiritual charm which can be visualized in its historical monuments, forts, temples, palaces of its civilian. It is well-known for its Kalakand (Milk-Cake), a world renowned dessert.

PLACES TO VISIT IN ALWAR

Sariska National Park- The Sariska Tiger Reserve is an Indian national park and wildlife refuge positioned in the Alwar district of the state of Rajasthan. The reserve consists of many species of wild life, such as the leopard, jungle cat, golden jackal, chital, sambhar, nilgai, chinkara, four-horned antelope, wild boar, hare, hanuman langur.

City Palace- The City Palace of Alwar is known as the Vinay Vilas Mahal. It is situated in the heart of Alwar City of Rajasthan. The City Palace, of Alwar, was constructed by Raja Bakhtayar Singh in the year 1793. Visitors can climb up to the museum at the top. There are three sections of museum. Just at the back the palace lies the huge tank called Sagar.

Moosi Maharani ki Chhatri- Moosi Maharani ki Chhatri is the monument of Maharaja Bakhtawar Singh and his Queen Rani Moosi, who committed ‘sati’. Its dual storied elephant structured design built by Vinay Singh in the year 1804. It remains open from 9:00 am till 4:30 pm, and is open on all days but closed on Fridays.

Purjan Vihar- Purjan Vihar was before known as the Company Gardens. This place was constructed for the duration of the Maharaja Mangal Singh. The garden has stunning formation prominently called as the Shimla House because it always has a cooler-than- widespread temperature.

Jai Samand Lake- About 6 Km from Alwar is the second leading non-natural lake of Asia built by Maharana Jai Singh In 1685. This vast lake is a major tourist appeal of Alwar. This lake presents an embankment of 1.5 kilometers. It is said that this lake was constructed to seize the soak of water from Ruparel River.

HOW TO REACH ALWAR

REACHING ALWAR BY AIR- Airports at Delhi and Jaipur are almost center from Alwar. Taxis are obtainable from the airport to Alwar. Jaipur is well-connected to metro cities.



REACHING ALWAR BY TRAIN- Alwar is well connected by rail with nearly all the major cities. Jammu Ali Express, Shatabdi, Ashram Express, Malani Express, Rajkot Express are some of the express trains that connect various cities with Alwar.


REACHING ALWAR BY BUS- Both government and private sectors are offering daily buses in which one can without difficulty reach Alwar. Agra (150 km),Bharatpur (94 km), Jaipur (143 km), Udaipur (566 km), Delhi (164 km).
