Dargah of Saint Moinuddin Chistti and Pushkar makes Ajmer a very holy town in Rajasthan. Ajmer is located amidst the Aravali range and is one of the most calm and beautiful cities of Rajasthan. The town is now expanding its base from Adarshnagar and Ramganj on one side and Vaishali Nagar, Panchsheel and Shastri Nagar on the other sides.

One place in Ajmer that still stands intact and hasn't lost its charm is the Anasagar Lake and Baradari. The beautiful lake has its historical importance but today the park near the lake also known as Baradari is one of the most beautiful natural spots in Ajmer. People from all walks of life visit this place and enjoy the scenic beauty alongside the lake. There is a small Island Restaurant inside the Lake where you can go in a boat.


Adjacent to the Anasagar Baradari is Bajrang Garh Temple and a small Market. Bajrang Garh is a Hanuman Temple located on the hill top. The place at the top is amazingly beautiful and you can see the panoramic view of the city and the Anasagar Lake from here.

The small market near Bajrang Garh offers Pau Bhaaji, paani Puri and other mouth watering and delicious food items.

Near by is JLN Medical College Hospital (Formerly Victoria Hospital). From here the Lohagal road will lead you to Shastrinagar Ajmer and the Anasagar Link Road will lead you to Vaishali Nagar and Panch Sheel. You can also trek to another famous temple, Ganesh Garh located at another hill top near Shastri Nagar Ajmer.

Bhaag Chand Ki Kothi, a famous landmark of Ajmer is also located near Baradari. Though this royal Kothi has been converted to a Hotel and Banquet organising Royal Weddings now. Close by you can have a glimpse of the ancient Jain Temple in Ajmer. One road from here will take you to famous Foy Sagar Lake in Ajmer. The beautiful and enchanting lake is at its best during the Rainy Season. Best place for a Picnic near Ajmer.

Pushkar is about 11 Kms from Anasagar Link Road Ajmer. The Pushkar Valley is a treat to the eyes. The enthralling view of Ajmer from the Pushkar Ghaati is truly mesmerising. The only Brahma Temple in the world is situated in Pushkar. The holy dip in the Pushkar Lake is believed to be very auspicious.

Ajmer has a good connectivity by rail and bus from all parts of Rajasthan, delhi, Ahmadabad,Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and other cities.

Shatabadi Express from Delhi to Ajmer takes only 6 hours to reach. Ajmer is 120 Kms from Jaipur and is connected by an Express Highway.

Not to miss is the beautiful piece of architecture, the Jain Temple at Nareli at the Beawar Bypass Ajmer. Prithvi Raj Chouhan Smark, Mayo College, Naka Madar, are some other places of interest in Ajmer
